Niko makes a transition to Yonoton from SOK where he built web and mobile apps as a Project Lead Developer.
Tell us a little bit about your background?
Hello, I am from Vietnam, I came to Finland 7 years ago to study and experience the Nordic culture. I started working in the second year of my study and now I have 5 years of experience in Software Engineering. My job is creating, developing and refining web, mobile applications. I have worked in various projects and products in consultancy agencies as well as product/SAAS companies.
Projects I have worked with vary from digital solutions for market leading companies in the health and medical industry to scalable e-commerce platforms for hundreds of thousands of users.

I find the product which Yonoton is developing meaningful and complex, it helps business partners operate better and their customers enjoy fast and modern services. Nowadays, the digitalization of the service industry is a trend and inevitable. Yonoton is following that path and achieving success so I hope to contribute my part for that success.

In my opinion, Yonoton is a scaleup with talented individuals, the company is growing fast and has the potential to do great things in the future.
Experience from scaleups?
I have worked for 2 startups in the past, I love the dynamism and challenges in this environment. You take on many responsibilities and can be assigned a variety of tasks. Therefore, start-up is always a very good environment to develop oneself, this is also a reason why I choose to become a Yonotonian.
Yonoton is growing rapidly – expectations?
The future is definitely bright. We need to focus on our strengths and keep working, success will come soon. Who knows, in just a few years, Yonoton might have hundreds of employees and be present everywhere in the world.
Name one achievement that you are most proud of?
I have built many applications both web and mobile. I am proud of all of them but S-kaupat and S-Ostoslista mobile apps by SOK are the biggest ones that I have developed.
S-kaupat helps users buy groceries online and order them home. On the other hand, S-ostoslista caters to people who want to go to brick and mortar stores so that they can make a shopping list and know where each product is located. Those two apps are being used by hundreds of thousands of Finns and made everyone's life easier, spending more time on the things that matter.
What do you like to do outside of work?
I like to spend time out with friends to avoid depression. Winter in Finland is really boring, but fortunately I have found the joy of skiing. I like gambling, poker to be specific, opening packs in Fifa. I have a dog, whom has a tiktok channel: “pumathecorgi” and instagram: “puma.thecorgi”. Follow please:)
